2025 HONDA AFRICA TWIN ADVENTURE SPORTS ES DCT Suspension & Chassis Breakdown | Poway Powersports
Suspension & Chassis Breakdown
How the Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES DCT is built to stay composed
From long-travel suspension to a purpose-built frame and adventure-ready wheel sizes, the Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES DCT is designed to track straight on rough surfaces, remain stable at speed, and feel predictable when the route turns into a trail.
Front suspension: long travel for real-world terrain
Up front, the Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES DCT uses a 45mm inverted Showa® SFF-BP fork with 9.1 inches of travel. That travel helps the front end absorb sharp hits and maintain traction when the surface gets choppy.
- More stability when the pavement is broken or uneven
- Better control under braking over bumps
- Confidence when transitioning from street to dirt
Rear suspension: Pro-Link® with electronic adjustment
In the back, a Pro-Link® Showa® single shock delivers 7.9 inches of travel and includes electronic adjustment. For riders who alternate between solo commuting, weekend canyon runs, and loaded-up travel, electronic adjustment can make it easier to keep the chassis balanced.
Correct preload helps maintain ride height and steering geometry. When the rear sags too much, the bike can feel vague in turns; when it’s too stiff, traction can suffer on rough surfaces.
Frame, geometry & stability
The Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES DCT uses a semi-double-cradle steel frame. Geometry and chassis dimensions work together to create a planted feel at speed while still allowing the bike to change direction predictably.
- Rake: 27.0°
- Trail: 4.2 in
- Wheelbase: 61.8 in
- Standard position: 33.7 in
- Low position: 32.9 in
Wheels & tires: adventure-ready sizing
Wheel and tire sizing affects how the bike rolls over obstacles, how it tracks in loose terrain, and how it feels during quick transitions on pavement.
- Front: 110/80-19
- Rear: 150/70R-18
Braking hardware & ABS notes
Stopping power and control are a major part of chassis confidence—especially on a bike built to cover distance with gear. The Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES DCT comes with ABS-equipped brakes front and rear.
