The 2024 KTM 990 DUKE in ORANGE is a mid-weight naked street bike built around KTM’s LC8c 2-cylinder, 4-stroke parallel-twin platform. With 947 cm³ displacement, 123 PS and 103 Nm, it pairs strong street performance with a 6-speed transmission and modern rider-focused electronics. This all-new DUKE generation brings a new tubular frame, WP APEX suspension, and a sharp, uncluttered naked design that celebrates 30 years of DUKE with a distinctive Orange colorway. A 5-inch bonded-glass TFT display, LED lighting, and configurable ride modes round out a package aimed at precision and versatility on real-world roads.

947 cm³ LC8c parallel-twin power

At the core is KTM’s 947 cm³ LC8c parallel-twin, rated at 123 PS and 103 Nm. KTM pairs more aggressive camshaft profiles and longer valve openings with a new exhaust system and a wider radiator with optimized airflow, aiming for improved rideability and consistent cooling. It’s all delivered through a 6-speed transmission for a responsive, performance-focused street setup.

WP APEX suspension, tuned your way

WP APEX components give the 990 DUKE meaningful, rider-accessible setup. Up front, the 43 mm open-cartridge USD fork uses split-function technology, with compression and rebound handled in separate fork legs and adjusted via 5-click settings. Out back, a gas-assisted WP APEX Monotube shock adds a lighter linear spring, 5-click rebound adjustment, and manual preload adjustment to match road conditions and riding style.

TFT tech, ride modes, and smart lighting

A 5-inch bonded-glass TFT dashboard features updated graphics and information software designed for faster navigation with fewer clicks. It can work with optional KTMConnect to link your smartphone for navigation, audio, and calls, and it also provides a USB-C charging connection. Add in configurable ride modes (with optional PERFORMANCE and TRACK modes) and an all-new LED headlight with adaptive DRL intensity and an automatic low beam function.

Engine and cooling-focused packaging

The KTM 990 DUKE’s LC8c parallel-twin is designed as an all-new powerplant for this generation, fitted into an all-new frame. KTM highlights more aggressive camshaft profiles and longer valve openings to improve rideability, backed by a wider radiator and optimized airflow to help keep operating temperatures in check. A new exhaust system completes the engine package.

With 947 cm³ displacement producing 123 PS and 103 Nm, the 990 DUKE is positioned to deliver strong street performance while keeping the feel direct and precise through its 6-speed transmission.

Chassis, frame, and ride feedback

A completely new tubular frame was developed with torsional stiffness and rider feel as top priorities. KTM uses forged parts over sheet metal and an integrated swingarm pivot point to add stiffness where it matters. An aluminum diecast subframe integrates the airbox and air intakes under the seat to reduce weight.

The lightweight, gravity die-cast swingarm is designed for increased stability and carefully managed flex, helping bump absorption on imperfect streets and backroads. Together with the WP APEX suspension package, the chassis is built to deliver clear feedback and confidence across a wide range of riding scenarios.

Braking hardware and ABS options

Braking is handled by twin lightweight 300 mm floating front discs paired with 4-piston radially mounted calipers, plus a 240 mm rear disc. KTM mates the system to anti-lock braking with Supermoto ABS functionality, giving riders an ABS setup intended to suit spirited street riding.

The combination of radially mounted front calipers and the floating disc design underscores the 990 DUKE’s performance-focused intent, complementing the bike’s precision-oriented chassis and suspension.

Rider modes, launch control, and optional track features

The 990 DUKE is configurable with up to five ride modes. STREET delivers full power with traction control and limited front wheel lift, plus an easy throttle response. SPORT sharpens throttle response and allows some wheel slip. RAIN mode reduces power and prioritizes traction for wet conditions. Optional PERFORMANCE and TRACK modes add further customization and a more focused sport riding setup.

Launch Control is fitted for rapid starts from a standing start. With optional TRACK mode enabled, the bike adds deeper adjustability, including 10-level slip control, the sharpest throttle response possible, and 5 levels of anti-wheelie, working alongside Launch Control for maximum-acceleration starts.

Ergonomics, display, and the ORANGE DUKE look

KTM designed the 2024 990 DUKE to inspire confidence across a wide range of riders, from beginners looking for a step up to advanced riders seeking a performance-focused naked street bike. The rider seat is set at 32.4 inches (825 mm) with a 2° tilt upfront, shaped for a sporty, aggressive position without sacrificing comfort. The seat cover is tuned for a balance of grip and freedom of movement with textile or leather riding gear, and aluminum footpegs add grip with some vibration damping. Passenger comfort is addressed with a more comfortable knee angle.

The all-new naked bodywork is intentionally uncluttered, with aggressive lines and design elements that mark this generation’s DUKE identity. In this listing’s ORANGE colorway, the look is paired with an all-new LED headlight design and a 5-inch bonded-glass TFT display, bringing modern lighting, fast-access menus, and optional smartphone connectivity into a clean, purpose-built cockpit.
