HondaCare Coverage for the Honda Metropolitan
Metropolitan riders can choose a HondaCare Protection Plan built for Honda scooters. HondaCare is an extended service plan from American Honda, with coverage features and benefits similar to the Honda new vehicle warranty.
On this page you’ll select two things: your HondaCare coverage term (1 Year through 5 Years) and whether you want the plan with or without optional Roadside Assistance. The price shown updates based on the variant you choose.
Choose your term and roadside option
Pick a Honda Metropolitan HondaCare term from 1 Year, 2 Years, 3 Years, 4 Years, or 5 Years. You can also choose the plan either Without Roadside or With Roadside Assistance. Your selected combination determines the price displayed on the product page.
Accepted at authorized Honda dealers
HondaCare coverage is accepted at any authorized Honda Motorcycle, Scooter, SXS or ATV dealer within the United States. If you’re traveling or you relocate, you can still use the plan through the authorized Honda dealer network.
Coverage features HondaCare is known for
HondaCare includes no mileage or hour limitation (coverage does not expire at a preset mileage or hour limit) and no deductible or co-pay (no out-of-pocket costs for repairs covered under HondaCare). It’s also transferable to a subsequent owner at no cost.
HondaCare for the Honda Metropolitan
This HondaCare Protection Plan is for the Honda Metropolitan scooter. It is an extended service plan from American Honda, marketed in the brochure under the line “Protection Under Our Wing.”
HondaCare is separate from the Honda limited warranty and is intended to begin where the factory warranty ends.
Coverage terms and pricing options
Coverage terms available for the Metropolitan: 1 Year ($320 without Roadside / $370 with Roadside), 2 Years ($370 / $440), 3 Years ($440 / $530), 4 Years ($530 / $630), and 5 Years ($670 / $790). Prices are in USD.
The price shown on the product page depends on the plan variant you select, including both the coverage term and whether you choose Roadside Assistance.
Factory warranty and total time from new (longest option)
The Honda Metropolitan factory warranty is 12 months. The longest HondaCare term offered for this model family is 60 months (5 Years).
Taken together, the 12-month Honda limited warranty and the longest available HondaCare term of 5 Years provide protection for up to 6 Years from new.
Plan benefits
Nationwide coverage: Coverage is accepted at any authorized Honda Motorcycle, Scooter, SXS or ATV dealer within the United States.
No mileage or hour limitation: Coverage does not expire at a preset mileage or hour limit.
No deductible or co-pay: There are no out-of-pocket costs for repairs covered under HondaCare.
Transferable: HondaCare is transferable to a subsequent owner at no cost.
Repairs you can trust: Backed by American Honda, covered repairs are made by Honda technicians using only new Genuine Honda Parts.
What HondaCare may help cover (system examples)
The brochure lists examples only—“just some of the many covered repairs against defects included in the plan.” Actual contract coverages, limitations and exclusions may vary; see your dealer for details.
Examples within the Engine system include transmission, cylinder heads, pistons, camshafts, cylinder, crankshafts, and balancer shaft. Examples within the Drive system include differential, drive shaft, axles, and CV joints.
Examples within the Fuel system include carburetors, intake manifolds, fuel tanks, fuel petcock, fuel injectors, fuel pump, and control module. Examples within the Cooling system include radiator, water pump, thermostat, cooling fans, and oil cooler.
Examples within Brakes include master cylinder, wheel cylinder, drums and rotors, calipers, reservoirs, and anti-lock control module. Examples within Electrical include alternator, regulator/rectifier, engine control module, electrical shift system, and ignition coils.
Examples within the Chassis system include frame, shocks, swingarm, and steering control rods.
Items not covered and coverage-void conditions
Examples of items excluded from coverage include tires, batteries, audio and navigation equipment, accessories, aftermarket equipment and modifications, and regular, required and expendable maintenance.
Racing, competition and rental use will void HondaCare coverage of the vehicle. Competition models that did not receive a new vehicle warranty are not eligible for HondaCare Protection Plans.
Eligibility basics
A HondaCare extended service plan is available for Honda motorcycles, scooters, SXSs and ATVs that came with, and are still under, a new vehicle warranty.
Eligible Certified Pre-Owned vehicles obtained from a Honda dealer can also be covered.
The brochure advises signing up before the new vehicle warranty expires.
Optional Roadside Assistance (Metropolitan)
Optional Roadside Assistance provides worry-free, nationwide coverage. If you select the “With Roadside” plan option, it includes emergency towing, fuel delivery service, locksmith assistance, extrication assistance, and a 24/7 toll-free assistance number.
For owners of Honda on-road motorcycles and scooters, optional Roadside Assistance can be purchased and used at any time, regardless of the vehicle’s warranty status. See dealer for details.
