The FourTrax Rancher uses a 420cc liquid-cooled, longitudinally mounted single-cylinder four-stroke engine. For real-world riding, that layout is about dependable torque and consistent cooling when you’re crawling, hauling, or spending long days on the trail.

This Rancher is equipped with a five-speed automatic Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) with reverse. In everyday use, DCT performance is about consistent engagement and easy speed management—especially when you’re moving between slow technical sections and faster two-track.

Traction is where an ATV earns its keep. The Rancher uses direct front and rear driveshafts and a torque-sensitive locking front differential for sure-footed performance when conditions change—think loose decomposed granite, wet grass, or rutted access roads.
