2026 Honda PCX160 Performance Guide
Built for efficient, smooth urban performance
The Honda PCX is designed to feel easy in traffic, stable at speed, and simple to live with—thanks to a liquid-cooled 157cc engine, automatic V-Matic belt drive, and front-wheel ABS.
Engine performance: 157cc liquid-cooled single
At the heart of the PCX160 is a 157cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine. Liquid cooling helps maintain consistent operating temperatures, which supports smooth performance in stop-and-go riding and during longer commutes.
Fueling is handled by Programmed Fuel-Injection (PGM-FI) with a 28mm throttle body, helping deliver predictable throttle response for everyday riding.
Transmission: automatic V-Matic belt drive
The PCX160 uses an Automatic V-Matic belt drive transmission. For many San Diego riders, that means less distraction in traffic—no clutch work, no shifting—just twist-and-go control.
- Smooth roll-on from a stop
- Easy low-speed maneuvering
- Simple operation for new and returning riders
Braking confidence: front ABS
A key performance highlight is the front-wheel ABS setup: single 220mm front disc with ABS. It’s designed to help maintain control during hard braking situations.
The rear brake is a 130mm drum, providing straightforward, predictable braking feel for everyday riding.
