2026 Honda CBR600RR

The 2026 Honda CBR600RR in Deep Pearl Gray is built for riders who want a focused, track-inspired sportbike feel with sharp feedback and precise control. Power comes from a 599cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder four-stroke with DOHC and four valves per cylinder, fed by Programmed Dual Stage Fuel Injection (PGM-DSFI) with a 40mm throttle body. A close-ratio six-speed manual helps keep the engine in its sweet spot, while premium chassis hardware like a Showa® SFF-BP inverted fork, Unit Pro-Link® rear suspension, and dual 310mm front discs with radial-mounted four-piston calipers support confident cornering and braking.

599cc inline-four precision

At the heart of the CBR600RR is a 599cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder four-stroke with DOHC and four valves per cylinder. Programmed Dual Stage Fuel Injection (PGM-DSFI) uses dual injectors per cylinder to support both low- and high-rpm performance, with refined settings aimed at clean throttle response at small openings. A close-ratio six-speed manual transmission ties it together for riders who like to stay engaged and keep the bike on the boil.

Race-bred suspension layout

A 41mm inverted Showa® SFF-BP fork up front (4.7-inch travel) and a Unit Pro-Link® HMAS™ single shock in back (5.1-inch travel) give the CBR600RR a serious chassis foundation. The Unit Pro-Link® design eliminates the frame-mounted top shock mount to help isolate the chassis from bumps for more precise handling and improved traction. Cast aluminum 12-spoke wheels are designed for consistent rigidity and balance to enhance suspension feedback.

Braking feel and stability tech

Stopping power comes from dual 310mm front discs with radial-mounted four-piston calipers, backed by a single 220mm rear disc. The bike also features an Electronic Combined Anti-Lock Braking System (C-ABS). For stability, Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) adjusts dynamically by sensing handlebar deflection and vehicle speed, helping maintain low-speed maneuverability while supporting high-speed stability.

Engine, fueling, and airflow

The CBR600RR’s 599cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder is built around a 67.0mm x 42.5mm bore and stroke and a 12.2:1 compression ratio, with a DOHC valvetrain and four valves per cylinder. Fueling is handled by Programmed Dual Stage Fuel Injection (PGM-DSFI) with a 40mm throttle body, using dual injectors in each cylinder to support strong response across the rpm range. Honda also equips the bike with dual-stage ram air, designed to route cool air directly into the airbox to help deliver increased power and exceptionally smooth performance throughout the rpm range.

Chassis geometry, suspension, and contact points

With a 23.5° rake, 3.9 inches of trail, and a 53.9-inch wheelbase, the CBR600RR is set up around compact, sport-focused geometry. Suspension hardware includes a 41mm inverted Showa® SFF-BP fork with 4.7 inches of travel, along with a Unit Pro-Link® HMAS™ rear shock with 5.1 inches of travel. Honda’s HMAS cartridge fork uses small-diameter pistons to maintain high oil velocity for improved damping characteristics, added feedback, and a wider range of adjustability. Tire sizing is 120/70ZR-17 front and 180/55ZR-17 rear for a classic supersport stance and footprint.

Braking package, steering control, and lighting

Up front, dual 310mm discs and radial-mounted four-piston calipers provide strong braking hardware, with the calipers described as radial-mounted monoblock units using four chromium-plated aluminum pistons for better feel and more powerful stopping performance. A single 220mm rear disc rounds out the system, and Honda adds Electronic Combined Anti-Lock Braking System (C-ABS) for additional braking management. For steering behavior, Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) adjusts dynamically based on handlebar deflection and vehicle speed to balance maneuverability and stability. Line-beam headlights use a two-piece reflector design with two H7 bulbs to deliver optimal light distribution in a compact package.

Everyday ownership details
