Powerful 999cc twin-cylinder engine
Experience unparalleled power with our liquid-cooled 999cc inline-twin engine, boasting high horsepower, ample torque, and unmatched refinement throughout the rpm range.

The 2026 Honda Talon 1000X in Pearl Red is a sport side-by-side built for tight trails and technical terrain, with a nimble 64.0-inch-wide stance and a 17.7-foot turning radius for maneuverability. Power comes from a 999cc liquid-cooled, longitudinally mounted parallel-twin four-stroke with PGM-FI and a 46mm throttle body, paired with a six-speed automatic Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT). FOX Live Valve shocks deliver semi-active suspension control, while Honda Electric Power Steering helps reduce fatigue in rough conditions. This 2-seat Talon also brings practical touches like standard full-coverage hard doors and a 297-pound bed capacity.
Honda’s six-speed automatic Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) gives you manual or automatic control with a gear-driven setup. Advanced Transmission Logic adapts to how you drive—shifting earlier for relaxed driving, holding gears longer when you’re pushing harder, and providing true engine braking on downhills for added control.
Semi-active FOX Live Valve 2.5 shocks dynamically adjust compression damping at each wheel to help the Talon 1000X stay composed across changing terrain. With 14.6 inches of front travel and 15.1 inches of rear travel, the suspension is designed to reduce body roll, smooth out rough sections, and resist bottoming.
With an 87.6-inch wheelbase, 64.0-inch width, and a 17.7-foot turning radius, the Talon 1000X emphasizes quick handling and maneuverability on tighter routes. Honda Electric Power Steering is specially tuned for sport driving, helping eliminate bump steer and adding assistance in 4WD, lower speeds, and rough conditions.
At the heart of the Talon 1000X is Honda’s 999cc liquid-cooled, longitudinally mounted parallel-twin four-stroke. It uses a Programmed Fuel-Injection system (PGM-FI) with a 46mm throttle body, and a Unicam SOHC valvetrain with four valves per cylinder. Key engine details include a 92.0mm x 75.1mm bore and stroke and a 10.0:1 compression ratio.
Honda also details performance-focused internal design elements such as a high lift, long-duration camshaft for better breathing, plus a semi-dry-sump lubrication system intended to help keep oiling consistent under extreme driving conditions. For ride comfort, the engine and exhaust are rubber-mounted to help insulate the cabin against excessive vibration.
The Talon’s six-speed DCT is built around Advanced Transmission Logic, which senses driving behavior and adapts shift timing accordingly. When the trail points downhill, the system provides true engine braking to help you maintain control without relying solely on the brakes.
For traction management, the Talon 1000X includes 2WD/4WD shift on the fly and Honda’s torque-biasing brake i-4WD traction control system. Honda notes this approach is designed to maximize available traction when you need it, while keeping steering effort more manageable, without the need for a diff lock. Hill Start Assist is also included to automatically hold position as you move from brake to accelerator, and it works on downhills too.
Suspension is designed for technical terrain and high-speed composure, using an independent double-wishbone front end and a 3-link trailing arm rear, both equipped with FOX Live Valve shocks. Travel measures 14.6 inches up front and 15.1 inches in the rear, and the Live Valve system adjusts compression damping at each wheel to respond to changing conditions.
For stopping power, the Talon 1000X uses dual 250mm discs up front and dual 250mm discs in the rear. Ground clearance is listed at 12.8 inches, and tire sizing is 28 x 9-15 front and 28 x 11-15 rear. The driveline uses direct front and rear driveshafts.
Inside, the Talon 1000X is a 2-seat machine recommended for drivers 16 years of age and older. The adjustable driver’s seat is designed to lock positively in position without wobble, helping a wide range of operators get properly situated. Easy-to-read LCD instruments keep key information in view, and secure cup holders are included for cabin convenience.
Standard full-coverage hard doors add weather protection and bring useful storage details like cupholders and secure compartments, along with a rattle-free double-latch design. For hauling trail essentials, the cargo bed capacity is 297 pounds, and fuel capacity is 7.3 gallons.

Giving the engine a camshaft with a high lift and long duration helps transform the engine. Better breathing helps the Talon make more power and keeps that power coming all the way to redline.
Keeping engine oil away from the crankshaft helps eliminate windage losses, while the semi-dry-sump design also helps ensure more positive oiling under extreme driving conditions. The result is better engine lubrication and longer engine life.
In addition to the suspension, we rubber-mounted the engine and exhaust system to insulate the cabin against excessive vibration. We also gave the engine four mounts to add strength under high loads.
The FOX Live Valve model features cutting-edge semi-active FOX suspension that dynamically adjusts compression damping for each wheel. This system offers reduced body roll, smoother terrain navigation, and superior resistance to bottoming. Learn More
The 87.6-inch wheelbase contributes to this sport side-by-side’s tracking while also giving you a super-smooth ride. At 64 inches wide and shorter than the Talon 1000R, the Talon 1000X emphasizes quick handling and maneuverability.
Honda's Electric Power Steering (EPS) technology keeps getting better. It eliminates bump steer, reduces fatigue, and provides added assistance in 4WD, lower speeds, and rough conditions. The system is specially tuned for sport-driving, and there are no belts or pumps to slip, break, or leak.
Designing our Talon models with a tight turning radius helps improve maneuverability. That’s not just a benefit in technical terrain, but it also makes loading and unloading easier too.
Our automatic Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) boasts a class-leading gear-driven setup, giving you manual or automatic control. It has efficient power delivery, true engine braking, and superior performance compared to belt-driven CVTs. Learn More
The brain of the DCT, Advanced Transmission Logic, senses how you drive and adapts. Relaxed drivers get earlier shifts, while sportier drivers will hold each gear longer. And when going downhill, you get true engine braking.
With our torque-biasing brake i-4WD traction control system, you can maximize available traction when you need it and have effortless steering when you want it, all without the need for a diff lock.
Hill Start Assist automatically holds you in position while you move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator—there’s no roll-back drama. It even works on the downhills, too!
Engine placement is pivotal, situated behind the cab for optimal balance and neutral weight distribution, ensuring exceptional control.
Hard doors are standard, offering full coverage and excellent weather protection. They provide extra storage space with cupholders and secure compartments. Doors use a double-latch design that’s rattle-free.
Designed to fit a wide range of operators, the adjustable driver’s seat locks positively in position without wobble, helping make you feel more connected to the vehicle.
We’ve included a centrally mounted switch panel that makes adding accessories like a winch or additional lighting easier than ever. It also helps keep the cabin looking tidy.
