Programmed Fuel Injection
PGM-FI continuously monitors several variables to ensure the correct fuel mixture is delivered in all conditions for the crispest throttle response and the most power.

The 2026 Honda NX500 in Pearl White blends everyday versatility with adventure-touring style in a package that’s easy to live with. Its 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin uses Honda PGM-FI with a 34mm throttle body, paired with a six-speed manual transmission for crisp, predictable response. A 41mm inverted Showa SFF-BP fork up front and a single-shock rear setup deliver 5.9 inches and 5.3 inches of travel, while standard ABS works with dual front discs and a rear disc for confident braking. With 7.1 inches of ground clearance and a 4.7-gallon fuel tank, it’s ready for commuting, weekend miles, and the occasional dirt-road detour.
The NX500’s 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin is built around a DOHC, four-valves-per-cylinder design and fuel injection. Honda’s PGM-FI continuously monitors operating conditions to deliver the correct fuel mixture, supporting crisp throttle response. Matched to a six-speed manual transmission, it’s a straightforward setup for riders who want smooth, usable power for city riding and open-road exploring.
A 41mm inverted Showa SFF-BP front fork with 5.9 inches of travel and a rear single shock with 5.3 inches of travel give the NX500 a composed feel across changing pavement and rougher backroads. The diamond-shaped steel-tube frame uses four engine mounts for a sturdy base, and a lightweight swingarm contributes to the bike’s agile handling and ride quality.
Standard ABS supports the NX500’s braking hardware: dual 296mm front discs with four-piston calipers plus a single 240mm rear disc. For day-to-night riding, LED lighting includes an LED headlight with multifaceted reflectors designed to provide excellent visibility, along with clean, stylish lines that complement the NX500’s adventure-forward look in Pearl White.
At the heart of the NX500 is a 471cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke parallel-twin with a 10.7:1 compression ratio and a 67.0mm x 66.8mm bore and stroke. The DOHC valvetrain uses four valves per cylinder, and Honda’s Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) works through a 34mm throttle body to keep fueling consistent as conditions change.
A six-speed manual transmission is paired with a slipper clutch, and Honda also notes the transmission’s internal components were designed to reduce shifting effort. Power is sent through a #520 O-ring-sealed chain with 15T/41T gearing. Completing the package is a muffler with twin outlets, a styling touch that also shapes the bike’s sound character.
The NX500 is set up with adventure-touring intent while staying manageable day to day. Up front is a 41mm inverted Showa SFF-BP fork with 5.9 inches of travel, while the rear uses a single shock with 5.3 inches of travel. A 27.0° rake and 4.3 inches of trail help define the steering geometry, and the 56.8-inch wheelbase keeps the chassis well balanced.
Multi-spoke cast aluminum wheels are lightweight, designed to enhance handling, and are compatible with various adventure touring tires. Tire sizing is 110/80-19 front and 160/60-17 rear. For riders planning mixed surfaces, the NX500 lists 7.1 inches of ground clearance, along with a 32.8-inch seat height and a curb weight of 432 pounds (including all standard equipment, required fluids, and a full tank of fuel).
Braking equipment is a strong point, with dual 296mm front discs and four-piston calipers, plus a 240mm rear disc. ABS is standard equipment. The NX500 also includes digital instrumentation, giving you key ride information at a glance, and LED lighting with a headlight and multifaceted reflectors designed for excellent visibility.
For comfort and practicality, Honda fits a tall windscreen and includes passenger handholds that add security for a passenger and can also serve as tie-down points for cargo items. The 4.7-gallon fuel tank supports longer stretches between stops. If you want to tailor the bike further, Honda lists a range of 18 available accessories, including a centerstand, hand guards, heated grips, and hard luggage.
The 2026 Honda NX500 includes a transferable, one year limited warranty. For riders who want additional coverage options, extended coverage is available with a HondaCare Protection Plan.
