HondaCare Coverage for the Honda Shadow Phantom
Shadow Phantom riders can choose a HondaCare Protection Plan that starts when the 12-month Honda limited warranty ends. This HondaCare Protection Plan is an extended service plan from American Honda, and it offers similar features and benefits to the Honda new vehicle warranty.

Honda-backed plan benefits
HondaCare is backed by American Honda, with covered repairs made by Honda technicians using only new Genuine Honda Parts. The plan includes nationwide coverage accepted at any authorized Honda Motorcycle, Scooter, SXS or ATV dealer within the United States. HondaCare also has no deductible or co-pay for covered repairs, and coverage does not expire at a preset mileage or hour limit.
Optional Roadside Assistance
Add optional Roadside Assistance for worry-free, nationwide coverage. Benefits include emergency towing, fuel delivery service, locksmith assistance, extrication assistance, and access to a 24/7 toll-free assistance number. For owners of Honda on-road motorcycles and scooters, optional Roadside Assistance can be purchased and used at any time, regardless of the vehicle's warranty status (see dealer for details).
HondaCare for the Honda Shadow Phantom
This HondaCare Protection Plan is designed for the Honda Shadow Phantom (On-Road Motorcycle). It begins where your 12-month Honda limited warranty ends, providing added protection time beyond the factory warranty period.
HondaCare is marketed under the line “Protection Under Our Wing,” and the official brochure describes it as offering similar features and benefits to the Honda new vehicle warranty.
Coverage terms and total protection time
Coverage terms available for the Shadow Phantom are 1 Year, 2 Years, 3 Years, 4 Years, and 5 Years.
Taken together, the 12-month Honda limited warranty and the longest available HondaCare term of 5 Years provide protection for up to 6 Years from new (12 months factory warranty plus up to 60 months of HondaCare after it ends).

Your total price depends on the Coverage Term you select and whether you choose Without Roadside or With Roadside Assistance.
1 Year: $440.00 without roadside, $490.00 with roadside. 2 Years: $510.00 without roadside, $580.00 with roadside.
3 Years: $600.00 without roadside, $690.00 with roadside. 4 Years: $710.00 without roadside, $810.00 with roadside.
5 Years: $850.00 without roadside, $970.00 with roadside.
HondaCare benefits included with the plan
Nationwide coverage is accepted at any authorized Honda Motorcycle, Scooter, SXS or ATV dealer within the United States.
HondaCare coverage does not expire at a preset mileage or hour limit.
There are no out-of-pocket costs for repairs covered under HondaCare (no deductible or co-pay).
HondaCare is transferable to a subsequent owner at no cost.
Backed by American Honda, covered repairs are made by Honda technicians using only new Genuine Honda Parts.
What HondaCare may help cover (examples by system)
The official brochure lists examples only—“just some of the many covered repairs against defects included in the plan.” These examples show what falls inside each covered system, but they are not a complete list. Actual contract coverages, limitations and exclusions may vary—see your dealer for details.
Engine system examples include transmission, balancer shaft, cylinder heads, pistons, camshafts, cylinder, and crankshafts.
Drive system examples include differential, drive shaft, axles, and CV joints.
Fuel system examples include carburetors, intake manifolds, fuel tanks, fuel petcock, fuel injectors, fuel pump, and control module.
Cooling system examples include radiator, water pump, thermostat, cooling fans, oil cooler.
Brakes, electrical, and chassis examples include master cylinder, calipers, anti-lock control module, alternator, engine control module, ignition coils, frame, shocks, swingarm, and steering control rods.
Optional Roadside Assistance (if selected)
If you choose the With Roadside option, optional Roadside Assistance provides worry-free, nationwide coverage.

Important exclusions, eligibility, and disclaimers
The brochure lists these items as excluded: tires, batteries, audio and navigation equipment, accessories, aftermarket equipment and modifications, and regular, required and expendable maintenance.
Racing, competition and rental use will void HondaCare coverage of the vehicle. Competition models that did not receive a new vehicle warranty are not eligible for HondaCare Protection Plans.
A HondaCare extended service plan is available for Honda motorcycles, scooters, SXSs and ATVs that came with, and are still under, a new vehicle warranty. Eligible Certified Pre-Owned vehicles obtained from a Honda dealer can also be covered.
